Clinical Impact: Perioperative Monitoring During TCAR Procedure

Every year nearly 800,000 people in the US have a stroke. Around 10 to 20 percent of strokes are due to carotid artery disease and more than 100,000 carotid revascularization procedures are performed every year. Without the help of cerebral blood flow monitoring, inadequate blood supply, dangerous embolization, and hyperperfusion can go unseen by the surgical team. Download the case to learn how the real-time blood flow data provided by the NovaSignal Platform allows clinicians to immediately respond to perioperative concerns.

New Research - Cerebral Microembolic Signal Burden During Pulsed Filed Ablation: Preliminary Results from Robotically Assisted Transcranial Doppler

Transcranial Doppler (TCD) has been used to monitor the burden of cerebral microembolic signals (MESs) during atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation. MES burden is considered a surrogate marker for stroke risk and has never been reported during AF ablation with the novel pulsed field ablation (PFA) system.

First Patient Enrolled in BUBL Clinical Trial

A PFO, more commonly known as a hole in the heart, is a congenital abnormality impacting approximately 25% of the entire population and is a known risk factor for stroke. Across the globe 500,000 strokes occur every year in patients suspected of having a PFO. The primary objective of the trial is to evaluate the PFO detection rate of NovaGuide vs standard of care diagnostic techniques. The BUBL trial is a prospective, single-arm, non-significant risk (NSR) device study. Up to 200 patients across six US sites with suspicion of embolic stroke of unknown origin will be evaluated with the NovaGuide and TTE. Want to learn more about the benefits of NovaGuide for PFO detection?

NovaGuide Intelligent Ultrasound Uncovers Possible Breakthrough in Patients with COVID-19

Data published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine utilized the NovaGuide Intelligent Ultrasound to remotely assess and monitor patients with COVID-19. Critical care teams at Mount Sinai Health System used the company’s autonomous robotic ultrasound to monitor cerebral blood flow of 18 mechanically ventilated patients with COVID-19 and revealed insights into the pathophysiology of the virus. While monitoring these critically ill patients with NovaGuide, physicians discovered an overabundance of pulmonary shunting, a physical dysfunction whereby deoxygenated blood bypasses the normal circulatory system resulting in lower levels of oxygen in the blood and contributing to respiratory distress in patients with COVID-19.
