Andrew Demchuk

Neurology

Dr. Demchuk is a Professor in the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences (Deputy Head) and Radiology at The Cumming School of Medicine University of Calgary. He is Director of the Calgary Stroke Program; Chair of Board of Directors, Canadian Stroke Consortium (Canada’s professional organization for stroke physicians); and Co-lead, Leadership Council for Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery. His research focus is on reperfusion treatments, clinical trials and stroke imaging. He has helped evolve stroke imaging to better select patients for treatment using tools such as ASPECTS, Clot Burden Score, pc-ASPECTS, and spot sign.
