Shiv Shankar is the Vice President of Cloud Engineering for NovaSignal. In this role, Shiv leads the software engineering teams to develop web, native, and cloud backend applications to process, store, display, analyze, and leverage data from NovaSignal TCD systems.
Shiv has spent over 30 years in software engineering, project management, and general management. He established world class software development centers for Intel and founded two technology startups. Shiv joined NovaSignal in 2020 after co-founding Learnhive Education, a K-12 online education technology company, and mapshalli.org, a non-profit organization that serves air quality, survey maps, and hydrology data to citizens. Shiv began his career at Wipro Information Technologies as a software engineer focused on communication protocols. He was a leader in software process improvements in multiple organizations.
Shiv earned his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering at Bharathiar University and M. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. He volunteers his time by providing next generation technology software-based tools and free advice related to air quality, survey maps, and hydrology to the citizens of Bangalore. He also mentors high school students in software development. He is a practicing software architect and an active software developer for both UI and backend software using JavaScript, Python, and Swift.
