Overview

Right-to-left Shunting (RLS) through a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) is a known risk factor for ischemic stroke and commonly screened in cases of cryptogenic stroke. With recent evidence linking the significance of PFO closure for reduction of recurrent stroke, there is a need for broader access to accurate, easily repeatable tools to identify high-risk patients considered for transcatheter PFO closure.
